THE HISTORY & BACKGROUND OF
ROB ANDREWS BASEBALL CAMPS:
It's Development. Since then much has changed. In the following years, Rob Andrews Youth Camp grew in leaps and bounds and was soon operated in 7 Bay Area Cities, with 18 camps conducted each summer. In 2006 the RABC ended it's long running partnership with the San Francisco Giants and branched out on its own. Overall, in it's 25 years of operations, Rob Andrews Youth Camp has helped over 23,000 children. Yet, the philosophy and goals of the camp have remained the same, that is, making sure youngsters who attend have a wholesome and fun time, while learning the proper mechanics and fundamentals of the game. This often differs greatly from the experiences some players have in their youth leagues. So for many, the Camp has become a yearly opportunity to really enjoy themselves, and improve their baseball skills in a more relaxed and less competitive environment. The Future. In 2008, at the conclusion of the camp season, Rob Andrews decided to retire from operating baseball camps. However, realizing that he would miss the kids too much, he decided to conduct one camp (one week only) close to his home in Walnut Creek, California. He now continues to serve parents and children in the area surrounding his home in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area and looks forward to many years of continued summer camps. While it would be easy for the camp to sit back and allow its prior efforts to carry it, the camp staff spend many hours 'brain storming' ideas on how to improve the existing programs, and thinking of ways to provide new and exciting additions to the camp's portfolio of quality baseball activities. Stay tuned as we enter our next twenty five years of Rob Andrews Baseball Camps! |
